District Profile

Scottsdale Unified School District has what is considered one of the best high schools in the state—five of which accept international study abroad students. Sports and Arts

School Profile

Buena High School is the only secondary school in the Sierra Vista Unified School District. Its special programs include a comprehensive core curriculum with Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, Dual Enrolment in local community college, Junior ROTC, and resource programs to ensure every student is successful.

Facilities

Buena High School has outstanding facilities including a professional level Performing Arts Centre with seating for over 1,300 people. Their new Alternative Learning Centre is designed to create a college library environment with its own faculty, classrooms, computers, labs and meeting space.

Sports and Arts

The school offers a wide array of sports that take advantage of Arizona’s beautiful weather including track, baseball, and swimming. Buena was named one of the top five public high schools in the country in the area of performing arts by the Educational Theatre Association. Community Information

Sierra Vista, just over an hour’s drive from Tucson, is the main commercial, cultural and recreational hub of Cochise County. It has many activities for international students. They can visit The Sierra Vista Aquatic Centre to cool off from the Arizona heat.
